Rules for participation in JuMP Productions:
You will be expected to attend all scheduled rehearsals unless you have received advance permission from the General Manager and clearance by the Director to be absent. The Director of each production sets the attendance policy for that production. See the Director for details.
Three tardy arrivals will be considered equal to one absense and will be included in your attendance calculation.
You must have your own transportation to and from all rehearsals and wil be expected to arrive on time and prepared and leave immediately following rehearsals. We will start on time and will continue untill our scheduled end time. Because an adult volunteer must stay at the rehearsal site untill all cast members have been picked up, it is very important that your ride is waiting for you when rehearsal is over. JuMP is an all-volunteer organization.
Rehearsals are closed to visitors. We want and need the involvment of families and friends, but limited space and rehearsal time make it necessary that only cast members and adults directly involved in the production attend our rehearsals.
Only JuMP members whose dues are current and who are in good standing may audition.
Behavior Policy (Three strikes and your out)
WARNING STATUS: Repeated and disruptive and/or destructive and/or disrepectful behavior or general disiplinary problems by a JuMP Co. member during a JuMP Co. sponsored activity or Promotional activity will result in their membership being placed in a WARNING STATUS. This status will remain in effect for a period of, but not to exceed, three months. This is considered STRIKE ONE. If there are no further disiplinary problems, the warning status will be removed after three months.
PROBATIONARY STATUS: If a JuMP Co. member, whose membership is in the WARNING STATUS, continues to be a disiplinary problem, their parent(s) will be notified in writing to meet the two member of the Executive Board of Directors and their membership will be placed in a PROBATIONARY STATUS for an additional three months. This is considered STRIKE TWO.
TERMINATION OF MEMBERSHIP: If and when a juMP Co. member's name, whose membership is in the PROBATIONARY STATUS, is brought before the Board of Directors because of disiplinary problems, this will result in a vote of removal by the board. If the Board votes in the majority for removal, the member will receive in writing a TERMINATION OF MEMBERSHIP within 5 days of the meeting. They will no longer be allowed into a JuMP Co. sponsored activity. This is considered STRIKE THREE. Membership can be reinstated after three months following a meeting between the JuMP Co. member, parent(s) and two members of the Executive Board of Directors, and an approval vote by a majority of the Board of Directors.
SUBSTANCE ABUSE POLICY
Due to the increased occurence of substance abuse by young people, it has become necessary to define rules of conduct for JuMP Co. The following policy is written to establish procedures to deal wtih suspected abuse at JuMP Co. sponsored activities or Promotional activities.
Due to the age range of its membership, JuMP Co. is adopting a ZERO tolerance policy for substance abuse. That is, no use or distribution of tobacco, alcohol, illegal drugs, recreational misuse of prescription drugs or inhalants will be tolerated at JuMP Co. sponsored activities or Promotional activities.
If it is determined by two JuMP Co. Board of Directors that a JuMP Co. member is in violation of the policy, his or her parent(s) will be called and he or she will be removed from JuMP Co. In addition, the appropriate law enforcement agency will be notified at the time of the suspected occurence.
The child removed under this policy may not return for a period of no less than 12 months. After that time, they must supply a drug evaluation by a recognized authority stating they are not using the above listed substances.
JuMP Members with their parent(s) may have the opportunity to petition the Board of Directors for reinstatement within 7 days of the suspected occurrence with a physician's statement.
