Mission
Inspiring Youth Through Musical Theatre
Vision
Our vision is to transform the lives of youth through the art of musical theatre education. Through the collaboration of creative, passionate, and generous community members, and with the support of financial aid and scholarships, we ensure that all young people are enabled, inspired, empowered, and prepared for a brighter future.
JuMP Company is a non-profit scholarship organization founded in 1984 by Martha Mead. It was established to offer the benefits of musical theatre performance to the young people of this community and to encourage and support the pursuit of higher education. For over 40 years, we have witnessed the positive changes in young performers when they participate in musical theatre and want that to be accessible to all children. Some of those benefits include self-confidence, creativity, teamwork, communication, positive self-image, emotional intelligence, to name a few.
We currently produce two shows each year, providing a wonderful opportunity for youth ages 8-18 to develop these skills. Auditions are held in early January for the Winter Show and late Spring for the Summer Show. In addition to the performances, Jump Co. offers educational workshops throughout the year that are open to all school-age participants. These workshops provide a fun and engaging way to learn new skills and develop a love for the performing arts. JuMP Company is working hard to grow our program and expand opportunities for participation. We are hopeful that by Fall of 2025 we will have classes and workshops available for enrollment. Please check back for more information.
Over the years, thousands of children have had the opportunity to grow through participating in our workshops and productions. In keeping with our founding principle, we’ve awarded scholarships to hundreds of students seeking higher education. To date, we’ve awarded over 100K in scholarships, making a tangible impact on the lives of countless students.
With the help of generous donors, sponsors and volunteers, we have grown significantly in the past few years. Our vision is to grow our program to the point that we are able to make participation in musical theatre a possibility for every child who wishes to participate. We hope to accomplish this by acquiring a property of our own so that we are able to provide classes, workshops and productions year round without the constraints of finances and accessibility.”
Getting Involved
As a non-profit organization run by a team of volunteers, we rely heavily on the time, talents and resources of this generous community. Our success comes from the many board and parent volunteers, creative directors, and incredibly talented youth who work tirelessly to produce such incredible shows; the financial contributions of generous sponsors, individuals and families who help fund our productions and scholarship fund; AND the supportive community members who attend our productions. This truly is a community effort and we appreciate all who generously contribute.
