Scholarship

Scholarship Requirements:

  1. Must be a JuMP Company member in good standing.
  2. Must be a graduating high school senior.
  3. Must have been an active member of JuMP Company for two or more years.
  4. One year of active membership must be the sophomore, junior or senior year of high school.
  5. Must have earned at least 5 scholarship points through participation in JuMP productions, classes, workshops, student leadership or service opportunities.

Scholarship Information:

  1. Application deadline is JUNE 1st.
  2. Applications can be submitted online.
  3. Seniors will be advised of the availability of scholarship applications via the JuMP Company website and social media.
  4. Scholarship recipients & amounts are decided and approved by the JuMP Company Executive Team/Scholarship Committee. 
  5. JuMP employees, executive team members, or volunteers with a qualifying senior are not eligible to serve on the Scholarship Committee.”
  6. Scholarships must be decided by June 1st to accommodate for publication of recipients in the summer show program.
  7. Scholarships will be announced during the intermission of the final dress rehearsal/parent night of the summer show.
  8. Scholarship money may be put on hold for up to three years upon the written request of the student. Extensions of this time frame must be approved by the Executive Team/Scholarship Committee.

Point System:

Points will only be awarded if the member participates in the complete production of a show.

  1. Cast Member: 1 point will be awarded per show.
  2. Backstage Crew Member : 1 point will be awarded per  show.
  3. Creative Team: 1 point will be awarded per show for helping as the Assistant Director, Assistant Choreographer, etc.
  4. Production Team: 1 point will be awarded per show for significant help with sets, costumes, props, hair & makeup, etc.
  5. Junior Board: 1 point will be awarded for each year the student serves as an active member of the Junior Board. Another 1 to 3 points are available for overall participation on the Junior Board. 
  6. JuMP Spirit: 1 to 5 points will be awarded based on the applicant’s volunteerism, kindness towards other JuMP Company members, cooperative attitude during productions, as well as attendance and support workshops, classes, service, parade, or any other JuMP sponsored activity or event where support is given.
  7. Member must have a minimum of 5 points to quality for scholarship.

Payment of Scholarships:

  1. Scholarship checks will be made payable to the school of choice.
  2. The check will be sent to the school the student has chosen with a cover letter explaining the scholarship and will include the student’s social security number and/or student identification number on the check and cover letter. Any bank fees or charges by the school incurred by JuMP Company will be subtracted from the scholarship amount.
